For the buyer, money and property will never be cheaper for the near future. Here in Crested Butte, the battle cry used to be that we are recession proof. Well...maybe. It's true that in a mountain resort town, there are always people who will buy a vacation home or investment property. But quite possibly, this year may be different. Disposable funds have dried up, and sales have dropped below normal for this Crested Butte and Mt Crested Butte ... good news for the buyer! Sellers are motivated, and there is an abundance of inventory...in all price levels. However, signs of recovery are on the horizon, our sales in July were way up, as was buyer optimism ... that good news for the seller! Prices that have been depressed this year will probably start to rise in the next 6-12 months. So what does this mean? It means that we are at the plateau for sellers and buyers to get together for deals that will not be repeated for at least the next two decades, if history is correct. Sellers want to sell, and buyers want to buy ... it couldn't be simpler than that.
